TIPS:

--Use this format for any reference source you've used, whether it's something you read in print, off the computer, microfilm, or any other media.  A reference source is a quick information source which can cover a variety of subjects or a single one, and is usually not not read completely. Instead, just a part of a reference source is usually used, so this bibliography format allows you to note the part of the source where you found your information.

--When you list an article title for a reference source (or any other source), you capitalize only the first letter of a sentence and any proper nouns. (names of specific people or places)

--Volume numbers are abbreviated with a capital V. and the volume number. (V. 4)

--Use pp. as an abbreviation for "pages" and p. as an abbreviation for "page."

--Volume numbers and page numbers usually do not apply to electronic reference sources.  If the information in any of these bibliography forms does not apply, simply leave it out-- but remember to end each reference with a period.

The rules below apply to all four Highlander Way Bibliography formats:

--If a bibliography reference runs longer than a single line, INDENT the lines following it THREE SPACES.  This is called "Hanging indention."
